The amount of heat released when 25.0 g of liquid water is converted to a solid at 0 °C is _____ kJ. (The molar heat of fusion for water is 6.02 kJ/mol at this temperature.)
The answer is 8.36 but how do you get this answer?
thanks

25.0 g H2O / 18.0 g/mol = 1.39 mol
1.39 mol x 6.02 kJ/mol = 8.36 kJ
you convert 25.0 grams of water to moles of water by multiplying by the conversion factor 1 mole of water/18.02 grams of water. then u multiply the number of moles by 6.02 kJ/mole to get 8.35 kJ.
