im going on vacation to albania [[europe]] and i live in chicago. i got my phone from a T-Mobile store and i was wondering if i could text my friends from all the way at Europe to here. i mean i know i could, but would they charge me extra, or charge my friends extra?

you can, but you will pay an enormous international fee's.
you phone bill could end up being in the hundreds even thousands of dollars.
