With $28 tax I paid $409 in New York State for a local garage for a "tune up and oil change". They said the tune up would help with the slowish starting of the car. It sometimes stalls right after I turn it on after it's been sitting in hot heather awhile. I paid $198 labor for the tune-up, got a fuel filter, ignition wires, PCV valve, air filter, 4 spark plugs, fuel injector cleaner and the oil change (which seems to be around $36.00 total). I had no idea it cost so much, my father always told me growing up tune ups weren't needed, but I figure with the newer cars it might help with the starting and the hot weather's coming... I have 80k on my Camry so they also said I need a $600-700 timing belt put in ASAP. Yikes. I also asked them fix the sticking gas pedal which they forgot to do and I am afraid to go back to them for fear that could cost a bundle, too. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I've used this garage many times before with no problems. They seem honest, but...
