SWEET RICE
1 c. reg. long grain rice
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. milk (or powdered nonfat dry milk)
Put rice, salt and 2 cups water in pot with tight fitting lid. Bring to a boil, turn heat down to simmer, simmer about 7 minutes or until water is used up, stirring occasionally. Then add sugar, butter and 3 cups milk. Simmer again until rice is soft, stirring occasionally. Good with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Also will get thicker when it cools. Usually takes about 20 minutes to prepare.
