Thread: recovering a lounge?? which material??

What type of material is suitable to recover a lounge/cushions?? i dont want a really thin material and the covers i will be removing are suede. any ideas??? Not velvet, leather or anything that will be hard to clean. Thanks!

Well, you definitely want a heavy duty material. I used to work at a fabric store and I've sewn for year so here are just some suggestions that you can look into.
Denim (comes in many colors)
Cotton Canvas
Cotton Duck
Cord
Micro cord
Cotton Twill
All of these are very strong and heavy duty fabrics that come in a multitude of colors and patterns. You can also find them at just about any fabric store.

Try 100% cotton canvas 350gr weight with CIRE treatment which is good for WP/WR .

Leather is one of the easiest to keep clean and the most hard wearing. Buy a dark colour and treat with leather protector and it will last a long time.

Suede is very very difficult.
