How would you answer this question? Dog whines when it moves and has not had bowel movement for sometime?

This is not my question, its is for someone else, but what would you do?

I own a small 10lb dog...7 years old. She is usually very active but the last few days she has been whining when she moves and I can't remember the last time she had a bowel movement I think she may have a stomach issue, what can I do?
As I said, It is not my dog... Im asking for a freind on the other side of the world actually!! I already told her to take to vet immediately but I thought maybe there were some additional info available. Thanks guys

Get it to the vet; could merely be constipation but also could be a bowel obstruction (from swallowing rawhide chunks, or something weird like rocks or pantyhose - dogs eat the darndest things...) or even bloat, both can potentially be fatal.

This is serious if she hasn't had a bowel movement. You shouldn't waste time & take her to the vet.
    Sounds like she's in pain!!

If you can't remember the last time she had a bowel movement, you need to take her to the vet immediately. Tiny dogs should have a b.m. daily.

maybe the dog's constipated. try mixing squash -mashed- in its food or it would be better to visit the vet before complications arise.

take your dog to a vet ASAP,this could very well be a serous matter.what youve just discribed sounds like a blockage in the dogs intestine possibly intussection a telescoping of the large intestine which causes a lot of discomfort and thus the ceasing of bm,s.get the dog to your vet right away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TAKE HER TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY!!!!!
    Don't wait take her now!
When a dog acts differently or whines and it isn't normal for them to act that way.....that is a big "Alert" that something is wrong.
The dog might have an obstruction and it might be deadly!
Don't wait any longer and take her in now!
