Can I put BB 8100 SIM into a 'new' (unlocked ?) handset?

Pearl 8100 got wet...SIM seems OK. Can I simply put SIM into a new/different handset (unlocked ??) and continue using under existing AT&T contract ? simple as that ?? Anyone had similar experience ?

Yes, provided the phone is not locked with any different network. If it is, then you need to unlock it. I suggest you can approach Unlock-zone.com and specify the country, locked network of Blackberry 8100.Based on the availability you can get the permanent unlock service along with free instructions.
