Why is learning HTML so boring?

Hi...I have a lot of time to kill and so have decided learning HTML to begin with. I am right now going through w3 tutorials (w3schools.com) as a friend recommended it but find it damn boring....I am not very computer savvy and the first computer language I learned was BASIC long long time ago.
Can anyone suggest something to make this less boring!

It's because html isn't a language, and it doesn't require any thinking.
I can't think of any way to make it more "exciting" for you. Maybe....
Imagine you're on an adventure and there's a T-Rex coming after you.

Does html sounds boring to you??will game for something more advance..

Why dont you try something more interesting and advance.
Get into server technologies and learn servlets/CGI and get yourself updated with latest tech. Jsp-servlet/.Net

Come up with a project. If you just try and learn the code it's going to put you to sleep, but if you are working towards creating a website, then you learn as you need it.

HTML is boring because there's nothing to it. It's a bunch of text and images and tags that make a web page. When it becomes more interesting is when you start learning CSS and Javascript and other more advanced languages like PHP, then when you bring them all together you got yourself something fun and useful.

Get a longer attention span.
html can produce very interesting results - as you know.

If you want to get good at it you need to be patient. Not everything in life is "exciting" but a lot of it is useful and worthwhile.

Instead of just reading how to write it - write it.
You're going to learn more by writing the HTML out and then seeing the results in your browser than by just reading that <p> creates a paragraph, etc..

Open up Notepad and get to work.

If you still find it boring, maybe HTML is not your cup of tea.
