How do we keep our cat from scratching the lounge suite?

Our cat uses the furniture as a scratching pole. How do we stop it?

When you are home use a spray bottle with water everytime you catch the cat scratching furniture spray the cat in the face with water, or if that fails you can have the front claws removed by a vet. The cat should be 6 mo's old to be declawed.

Get rid of the claws or what works good is a squirt bottle with white viniger and squirt every time it goes near the lounge. It won't take long for it to either stay away from it or run when it sees the bottle

spend a small bit of money & buy a scratching pole & put catnip on it to encourage it to use it
they are cheap from the cheap shops & are covered in carpet & cats love them or you can get a nice type of tree branch & put it in a pot as long as you don't use dirt as it may think its the loo also
DON"T ever declaw it ...it is so cruel!!!!
