How do I stop my dog pooping on the lounge?

He has only just recently started doing this. It seems to be first thing in the morning and as it is we are getting up to let them out at 5am! He hops up on the lounge to go to the toiler. He used to never go to the toiler during the night, but has picked up this behaviour, the lounge is brand new! There has been no change in his diet lately either. The other dog doesnt make any mess inside. He is a little dog. They are getting disturbed by the other dogs in other parts of the house. How do I stop him pooping inside and on the lounge?

Crate train him. When he's not in the crate he's on a lead that you control. You must make him realize that YOU control every aspect of his behavior and if you don't want him on the lounge, you simply tug at the lead and control it.

Crate training is the key to housebreaking the animal however. Whenever you can't keep an eye on him and a lead on him, he's in the crate until you're sure he's completely cured of his 'accidents.'

Just put big empty boxes on your couch at night. If he can't jump up there, he can't poop up there, now can he?

    Good luck!
