I dont know if its books for a 13 year old, or a book for you, and you read at at 13 y.o. level, irregardless for both i suggest some of the classics. "Catcher in the Rye" is alright, "1984" is really easy to read but highly impactive. "The adventures of tom sayer" would be somewhat historical fiction, as it shows life in america during civil times.. "Huckleberry finn" is also good, but not as carefree and youthfull, it has deeper subtext but both are good stories . "a wrinkle in time" is funny, and easy to read if i remember. oh!!, "johnny tremain" yeah that book was good too, its like 7th grade level about a teenager that gets swept up in the revolutionary war. Otherwise you could read the "space odysseys", by arthur c. clarke, or "rondezvous with rama" by arthur too. "Farenheit 451", "animal farm" "Of mice and men" are 3 real masterpieces that are if i remeber freshmen level. I heard the "harry potter" *series is good though i only read the first one, it was pretty good actually. Hope this helps.

Is Nancy Drew too young??? I used to LOVE Nancy Drew books. But not the newer ones... those were weird. The old, old ones... those were good.

For more mature reading: Elie Wiesel books. Chilling. Especially Night. And The Accident. True books, and they will definitely stick with you.
