Replacing the rear tail light cover on my 2009 Toyota Camry... At my dealer the price...

...for the part is 271.00? but at an online parts site (after market) the price is 91.00. Do you think it is safe to buy the part on line? Will it fit properly? Has anyone any experience with this?
    thanks!

The price that the dealer is qouting you is accurate. That is the price for a factory Toyota tail lamp. You cannot buy just the lens, you must buy the entire assembly. Do not buy the cheap aftermarket knock off. It will not fit nearly as well as the factory one and it will probably leak water within a year.

You might consider a used one that way you can get a factory part at a cheaper price. Check out www.car-part.com and see what is available in your area.

    Junkyard
    Ebay
    CraigsList.

I bought an after-market tail light cover for my friend's 2006 Camry at a local retailer for $112 and replaced for her. If I do not tell, no one can tell the difference between the two side: which one is after-market, or which side is OEM?

Yes the aftermarket light cover will probaly work and fit properly. You will probably never know the difference.

Why don't you just buy it from ebay.com. You don't need a tail light cover you need the whole assembly. On ebay you can buy one from 2007-2009 they are the same design.
