no you have to use a color
coat under the clear coat
because the clear is not
made to go over primer
it is made to inter act with
the color coat

i want to paint a bicycle white, i have white primer and clear coat, can i just use those to get a good finish?
Yes,it will work.I'm a painter and see no problem with it.I recommend lightly sanding the primer, not enough to break through it, before spraying the clear.

Just depends on how good the clear coat is. Some spray can clear starts out yellowish and does not protect to well. Best way Lightly sand the entire surface before priming. Prime with sanding primer sand smooth and apply a color coat or two. Either stop there or clar over the color coat after a day or two.

no, primer it, sand it down a little, paint it and add clear coat then. dont leave the bike outside in the rain, primer sucks in water like a drain plug and will rust the frame. the more clear you use after each dry period the more shiny it will be....you can wet sand the bike after the final clear coat to get a smooth finish...
