the answer is yes. but, there are two things you have to do. first have you have to have an active metro account to put the phone on. the other thing is when you buy the virgin phone do not activate it. but you can flash any CDMA technology phone over to either metro pcs or cricket with the exception of phones that are 3g capapble or have a full html browser
