Yamaha and Pioneer are good and their high end stuff is great (ie: Pioneer Elite).
    - Bose = more money for less quality and are inferior to everything else in their price range and even quite a few that are below the price of a Bose system. Just Google "Bose Quality" and you'll see it's the common evaluation. Bose is 99% marketing to those ignorant of what quality audio is.
    - Kenwood is good for car audio. I don't believe they do home audio any more in North America. In areas where they do home audio they are low to mid range, not best.

Kenwood,Yamaha,Pioneer,& Bose are definitely not "the best" brands out there. Pioneer and Yamaha are equaled by Denon, Marantz, Sherwood Newcastle, NAD, and many others. They are bettered by brands like McIntosh, Meridian, Krell, Emotiva, Athena, and many others. Of course when you start getting over $3K for a receiver it starts to follow the law of diminishing returns.
