Yamaha make good acoustic starters. You can play any style on a steel string acoustic, but it would be more difficult to play classical guitar music on as the strings are alot tougher.

I've finally decided to learn the guitar, I want to get a good quality one but not overly expensive. I went and did some minor research and came across Yamaha guitars, I know that Yamaha is a respected piano maker but I'm not sure about guitars. It's about 150 dollars so there's a better chance that my parents might fork over money for it . Any advice?
i want to learn acoustic by the way
btw can you play actual classical guitar music on an acoustic? just wondering...

if it's an acoustic, then yes. its a good starter guitar. if it's an electric, then there are better. i'd go with a fender squier or an ibanez.
