yes, it is the air pump. More correctly, secondary air injection pump. You most likely won't be able to find the parts new. You should be able to find them in a salvage yard. I'll look in my gm parts catalog computer tomorrow when I'm at work. they may be discontinued, but you never know until you look.

What is the actual name for the bracket/mount/frame for the air pump on a 1991 Pontiac

Firebird? My husband's new project is a 1991 Pontiac Firebird, V6. He needs to replace the air pump (Google searches seem to suggest it's also / more properly called a smog pump?), which we've found online, but he says the "frame" that goes with it and holds it in place is also broken. We're trying to shop for it, but we must not be calling it by the right name, because we don't find anything that appears to be the right item.

It's a V-shaped metal piece that goes behind the pump and in front of the motor. When we look at items online described as either a "smog pump" or a "smog pump kit," they appear to be the parts for the pump itself, but not the part that's needed to secure it. Is it part of some other system, or are we just calling it by an incorrect name?
