Why should I value culture?

There are events that celebrate culture or cultures. There are organizations that exist to preserve culture or cultures. What makes culture deserving of celebration or worthy of preservation?

Culture is the civilising achievements of mankind.
Following WW! when so many people died and there was such destruction of churches and art galleries and general property, a group of artists, calling themselves Dadists (From da da, the cry of a new born baby) began a new art movement on the basis that all our civilising influences, art, music, archtecture, theatre etc had failed.to stop our destructive nature. Their aim was to begin again the process.
Then came WW2, and Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan and soon, Iran.
