    i have a 1992 ford f350 (the Brakes)???help????

i have a 1992 ford f350 the brakes are not working well. some1 said the belt is too big that is on the alternator could this be right? should i buy a smaller belt? or is there something needing to be adjusted?like rear brakes?
they said the belt leads to vacuum assist or something and its not getting enough vacuum but the pedal goes all the way to the floor when i try and stop it does stop but very slow and all the way to the floor

your advisor is totally ignorant about this subject. The belts have absolutely nothing to do with the brake function.
I know of a few reaons for your problem but you are better off taking it to a shop and getting it done right.
