1997 Grand Cherokee, 6 cyl gas engine, 2wd. Seems like the sound is coming from the right front of the car. It's not the muffler. The sound seems to be tied in to the speed of the axles. When I let off the gas pedal, the noise doesn't decrease with the engine rpm's. Could it be the front bearings going bad?

At highway speed my Jeep sounds like an airplane. Why?
