    Width—w:
    2(w + 2w + 3) = 36
    3w + 3 = 18
    w + 1 = 6
    w = 5

    Length:
    = 2(5) + 3
    = 10 + 3
    = 13

    Answer: 5 yd is the width, 13 yd is the length

    2(w + 2w + 3) = 36
    3w + 3 = 18
    w + 1 = 6
    w = 5

    Length:
    = 2(5) + 3
    = 10 + 3
    = 13

    Answer: 5 yd is the width, 13 yd is the length
