    if it doesn't burn oil now it might be ok. it will increase your oil consumption. you might get another 100,000+ since it's a toyota. another option would be to replace the complete engine with a later model low mileage engine.

    '85 Toyota p-up cracked heads. 160K worth repairing?

    I have an extimate for $1700 for parts & labor, but have since heard that you need to re-do the bottom as well as the top part of the engine if the top heads go. Is this necessary? I don't know anything about it, and the mechanic didn't mention it. Should I? I was told by someone that if the top heads go, then it is just a matter of time until the bottom goes. Any help would be appreciated.
