What are your favorite TV memories?

TV rarely has lived up to its promise. But some events and images manage to stick in our memories. Reality, drama, comedy, what things stand out in your mind from the history of TV?

One of my fondest memories is the tears in Walter Cronkite's eye at the announcement, "The Eagle has landed!" Another was the Douglas Edwards special on UFO's, when a guest scientist referred to an Air Force study and the station immediately cut to a commercial, and when they came back the scientist wasn't mentioned again, only a general swearing there were no UFO's!
