Thread: Motorcycle choice for beginner...

...almost 16? Ok i been looking around on the 2008 ninja250r also iam about to turn 16 in like 2 months.......are there any other choices? but i also dont like the harley look i like the sport bike look i.....the only motorcycle i ever rode was a dirt bike like 3 times iam pretty good

just wonderin if a 250r will be enough

I wouldn't go for such a new bike, if you drop it or damage it, it could be expensive to fix and decrease the resale value. And since you'll probly want to get a bigger bike in a few years when you have your unrestricted license it'd be better to get a cheaper second hand one, and save up to get a bigger, better bike once you have your full license.
Also consider getting a dirt bike as these will take drops and minor damages a lot better than a sports bike.

the Ninja 250 is a perfect first bike....my wife has an 05.. and even though I ride a liter bike her is still a blast.

i would suggest a 450. i do not know your money situation but chances are that after you learn to ride you'll want a bigger, more powerful bike and the 450 is still a great size for a beginner, thats what i learned on. i wouldn't suggest anything bigger then 600 though, and only get a 600 if you want to take the risk because it will be a lot of power for a sport bike.
