have a 12 weeks old border collie. My mom let him in the backyard to do his buisness and he walked back in with a dead baby rat in his mouth. My mom is calling a vet right now just in case the rat ate poison and thats how the rat died. My mom will go out front with him untill we find the nest. Anything else we could do? Were feeding him and he did not eat the rat. He is acting fine.
I asked this question earlier, just needed more info.

"almost" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. He should be fine.
