You think a Vet could help? Fish it out and step on it, best way forward is no further.

When a fish gets that bad, there is nothing that can be done for that fish. Sadly it is at the hotel desk of life and is handing over the keys to the clerk.

    It's checking out.

The thing to do now is to get it out of there and into an isolation tank (clean tupperware will do in a pinch) and see if it can recover or not.

If it dies in the tank and you're not there to fish him out, then the decay process can pollute the tank and cause some other issues.

Sorry, but it might be time for the trip down the "U-Bend" and get another fish.

That's the sad fact of life with aquariums. Eventually they will die.

This is serious, one of my fish (may it rest in peace) was killed by that! But don't worry, try feeding it boiled peas (one night and day) until it gets better, but peel of the first layer of skin. Don't worry it's just swim bladder disorder (though it can kill it)

    GOOD LUCK!
