Can i prepare an apple crumble ahead of time or must i bake it immediately?

Can i put the peeled, chopped apples in a dish with the sugar and the crumble mixture in the fridge and then just add it and bake it when ready or do i have to bake it as soon as i've prepared it all?

I wouldn't combine the two parts until you're ready to cook it as the juice from the apple part might make the crumble part soggy. Also, if you've used self-raising flour, you should really cook it immediately but I doubt it'll make much difference - after all, it's not a cake.
