Until the fish's gills stop moving, it's still alive. When judging whether a fish has died, look closely at its gills. If the gills don't move within 30 seconds, the fish is dead.

It will still be alive if it's still breathing so make sure it's in water. It may be dying so just keep checking on it, what are its symptoms? You may be able to get some tonic for it.
    Good luck!
