my honda/acura 1989 legends' boot wont open?

i just got my legend and when ever i put the key in to open it . it wont? anyone help?
i own a honda/acura legend and the boot wont open the batterys dead and the key wont turn when i put in it to attempt to open it?

Someone replaced the old lock with a new lock. The key was cut wrong.

Try to get your fingers under the edge, twist the key and lift up. (I am assuming that the key turns.) If the seals get gummy, they stick sometimes. If the key will not turn, then it sounds like the lock has been changed and does not match that key. A locksmith may be able to help there.
