The battery may have become corrupt and/or is defective. It is not uncommon for rechargeable batteries to act up. Have you tried charging the camera using the USB cable and/or the battery charger? You may need to replace the battery.

Hi guys, I shot some videos with my camera (Xacti Sanyo VPC-CG65) and the battery ran out while filming. When I wanted to start it to check out the videos (you know sometimes you got that liiiittle piece of battery left) it wouldn't start. Since the battery ran out I charged it and then tried again, but the camera simply wont start?! Searched majorly all over the web but can't find any info about this problem... oh and also for the record I never dropped it or damaged it in anyway (nor was it in contact with water). greetz
