Ok. I have an iPhone 3G, and I've been wanting to get the 3GS for a while now.... And since they're so much cheaper in the UK (Yes, I took exchange rates into account), I thought maybe I could buy one there on a Vodafone pay-as-you-go kind of plan thingy, and then just have it shipped to the US, and not use the plan that comes with it.
Is it a possibility or am I overlooking something?

You are overlooking the fact that Vodafone in the US is Verizon and they don't sell the iphone.
