Sure, you should have it unlocked if in case just inserting your simcard does not make it work.Maybe you can ask your dad to call Bell to ask for the unlock code since it is a finished contract phone already,or you can look for the service that offer unlocking cellphone, maybe at a shopping center area or any phone store.A fair price will be ranged $10-25.
Once its unlocked you can insert your simcard and use it for phone call and texting with your existing plan.
If you have data or internet plan it WONT work with Blackberry. If you still want internet stuff on this BB,you should buy BIS Plan and Cancel your Data plan.Visit your provider website to digg more info regarding BIS Plan.

its possible to keep the same plan, but the blackberry need its own data plan which is BIS plan.Your existing data plan wont work for BB.You cannot have internet stuff on BB with your existing Data plan.

Switching my Rogers SIM into a Bell Phone?

My dad is no longer using his Blackberry Curve and said I could have it, but the only problem is it's on Bell. I have a LG Xenon with Rogers. If I put my SIM into his Blackberry will it work as normal?

If that won't work, what would I have to do in order for me to use his Blackberry?

    Thanks in advance.
PS I don't want to switch my plan. I'd like to keep the same plan and stay with Rogers. If that's even possible.
