could i put a smart phone on my verizon plan if i dont have the smartphone plan?

i like the smart phones but i dont want to pay the extra money ofr the internet. so could i do this?
i would like to do this but dont want to have to pay for the internet. btw i am buy the phone off the internet.

they may allow you to do that, but you will probably have to pay full price for the phone. the discount comes from having both the contract and the data plan. That's how all the companies do it with the smart phones.
