No, it will not work. The iPhone has a SIM card in it so you need a network that is capable of using phones that have SIM cards i.e. GSM networks. Verizon is a CDMA network and therefore not capable of using phones that were built for a GSM network.

To swap network in an locked iPhone you need to unlock it.To unlock an iPhone the remote unlock service would be a better option because, you need not give your mobile to someone else nor do you have any chance to enter the wrong unlock codes. To get such an unlocking service for your iPhone approach Theunlockspot.com and by submitting the country and network to which the mobile is locked to you will be able to remove the restriction from the respective network. This will be a permanent unlocking solution. The iPhone supports only GSM network and hence you can swap only other GSM networks and not Verizon which is a CDMA network. If you want to use iPhone model with Verizon you can buy a model that supports it like iPhone 4S,iPhone 5 which is for both GSM and CDMA.
