In 1 John 2:12 We See That Our Sins Our Already Forgiven. Why Then, Is It

Important That We Confess Our Sins? 12I write to you, dear children,
because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.

Believers are already saved by the blood of Jesus. As human, we are imperfect and kept on being imperfect, so confessing is our ongoing vessel of being forgiven of our human frailties.
As what St Paul said: 1 Cor 3:15si cuius opus arserit detrimentum patietur ipse autem salvus erit sic tamen quasi per ignem
If any mans work burn, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.
Thus, if we die with that imperfection, we shall be cleansed in the purgatory and eventually leads us to heaven. Pax
