Your Hometown...What do you love about it?

Friendly people....just the other day when I was coming out of the Dollar Store I was struggling to carry a whole lot of shopping bags and I was in a mess because my hair was caught under the strap of my purse on my shoulder. One of the clerks was outside taking a break, and she rushed right over to help me. I thought about how nice that was...and that's actually what originally gave me the idea for this thread.

I love the way that my little town has managed to cope after going through Hurricane Katrina, even though our population went from 12,000 to 40,000 in a matter of weeks after the storm. It's a welcoming place, and it was the closest town to the Gulf to survive largely intact.

I just love the fact that it is home, I can't imagine myself anywhere else.

I love the cultural diversity, the summers, and the proximity to the U.S. border. US shopping trips are always easy for us!

My brilliant friends live there who I love so much
The burrs country park which is lovely to walk through
My parents are there
My house is wonderful
There are two local fantastic village pubs
