just wanted to give a quick mention that Bell is currently testing 2 new HD channels.
828 - National Geographic HD
838 - Showcase HD
Don't know when they'll appear in the guide, but they're on their way!

One less reason to stray out of the 800s... and there aren't many reasons left.
The MPEG2 or MPEG4 issues is a matter of choice by the transmitting company.
In the U.S. DishNetwork uses a great deal of TRUE MPEG4 now, initially it was a fake version for the reason stated above.
The only other NatGeo HD on Canadian Sat is in plain old regular MPEG2 as well.
In Bev's case, unless they only intend it to go to a small handful of users with their latest MPEG4 ready box, then it will be MPEG2 and your current HD gear will be fine.
The current signals are indeed MPEG2 720p HD, so no need to worry.
As speculated, watch and see in February.
I was shot down several months ago for saying the MPEG4 used by Dish was fake, just happy to see that I am now either vindicated or the myth lives on....lol
A&E HD has to be a SD rebroadcast , everything on that channel looks stretched .... but yes bring on more HD channels allready.
I occasionally watch this channel and don't notice any audio problems when using my 6100.
Thanks for the heads up.
Could someone please explain what this message is trying to say?
