any ideas yet
Well, I finally gave up loading them from the sd card. I broke down and bought a usb cable. Here's a quick little rundown of what I did to get the ringtones to work.
1. Download Wavepad. nch.com.au/components/wpsetup.exe
2. Download Razorlame. dors.de/razorlame/razorlame.zip
3. Download the Lame.exe. free-codecs.com/Lame_Encoder_download.htm
4. Download MyJal 3.0. softpedia.com/progDownload/MyJAL-MediaPal-Download-49656.html
5. Install Wavepad, Razorlame, and Myjal.
6. Place the Lame.exe in the Razorlame Folder.
7. Open Wavepad and load the mp3 you want to make into a ringtone.
8. Go to the part of the song you want to start the ringtone at and click stop.
9. Click split file in two (3rd button from the right on the second toolbar from the top)
10. Click play until you've reached where you want your ringtone to end then click stop.
11. Click split file in two again, then close the two remaining sound files without saving them. You should be left with your ringtone called Untitled 1.
12. Save this file as a .WAV file.
13. Open Razorlame.
14. Click the edit menu, and select OPTIONS.
15. Under LAME, Select the location of the Lame.exe file (Which should be in your razorlame folder now)
16. Click ok, go back to the edit menu and click LAME OPTIONS.
17. Under the General tab, set the bitrate to 48kbit, and change the mode dropdown box to mono.
18. Click the Audio processing tab and change the output sampling frequency to 8kHz.
19. Click Ok, then drag and drop the .WAV files you have created into Razorlame.
20. Click encode and watch your .WAV's become mp3 ringtones
21. Open MyJal 3.0 and click connect.
22. Click ringtones and add the tones you want to upload to your phone (FILE NAME LENGTH CANNOT EXCEED 20 CHARACTERS INCLUDING EXTENSION)
23. Rinse, repeat, and enjoy
is the sound quality any good because i got my ringtones to work but sound really horrible
mine sound just fine. when you save the wav file in wavepad it will prompt you for the encoding quality. Make sure you're saving the wav files as "48.000 kHz, 16 bit stereo 187kb/s. also make sure you set the settings in razorlame to exactly what i said in the previous post. also remember you're not getting cd quality from ringtones. they are what they are, ringtones. hope this helps you
does any of these program require internet because i dont have internet i am doing it on
You're on the internet if you're posting on this board. But no, once they're downloaded you don't have to be online to use them. This may be of more use to you though. speaknspell.co.uk
it worked fine ya are so smart
I think he meant internet on the phone.
