You got me all off track with this webjal problem:flamemad:
You don't need webjal for the i880:more...
i always used webjal to get my ringtones on my i880 and it worked perfectly
well i did all that convert into lame and i dont get an option to assign as a ringer?????????????
Did you copy to phone?
BTW, we are going to get to the bottom of this! I know how frustrating this can be.
I'm going to dig my i880 out of the drawer and charge it and try to remember how I put ringtones on my phone.
I will PM you later
ok thank you very much that would be awesome, not sure what is going on though because i done all that you said by converting to mp3 lame and all the other things then copy to phone and still no assign as ringer, but i seriously do appreciate your help. can you pm me later with what ya get with your i880
I can't get USB modem on my PC! (XP Pro SP3 IE8) Need that for webjal.
Can't get the reader to recognize PC either
BUT THIS IS WHAT I DID REMEMBER:
>>>Put your memory card in an extenral card reader (USB SDHC) connected to the PC,
Drag properly formatted ringtone (Mp3 (Lame) 8bit 8000hz MONO 48kbps) to the AUDIO folder on the card.
Put card in phone. Goto media center
Select menue (left of the left arrow button)
Select filter to >card all
highlight YOUR custom ringtone> Select menue
ASSIGN AS... (ignore 15 sec message)
Try the attached txt file: rename the extension to mp3
what is a external card reader?
This is what I use;
TOPRAM HiSpeed SD SDHC 8GB 16GB 32GB USB Card Reader R3 - eBay (item 330307766623 end time Feb-20-09 12:26:18 PST)
You can get a card reader anywhere ie: Best buy, Fry's Electronics, walmart Amazon, etc.
Make sure it's a SDHC to read memory cards 1 gb and up.
(My built in card reader on my PC can't read 1 gb and up)
Hope this helps, holla back and let us know
thx 4this
