You don't change the extension to .midi, you change the extension to .MID. Also make sure it is in capital letters. The sound quality comes out better when the extension is changed to .MID.

I have an older LG model phone with Verizon service, and I can still send .mid to my phone just fine, but my friend, who has a more recent model, said that he can't do it anymore. Like, he used to be able to do it with that model, and then one day he woke up and he couldn't do it anymore. Perhaps Verizon is cracking down on this?
wow i really have been wanting to figure this out because it exspensive with the verizon pack...to get music to your phone..
Thanks
P.s ill try it now and report back i have an enV
has anyone gotten this to work with the g'zone?
anyone know if it works with the black shc-u740?
good stuff....
In my experience, this .mid renaming business is very handset-specific. This is, after all, a mislabeled file - midi !- mp3. If you are having problems sending mp3s labeled as mids, try sending the same file labeled with a correct extension. Another thing that might work is checking what audio types your phone supports by looking at its http accept-encoding header, and sending a file in that format. There are many databases of this kind of info online, or you can use one of the many web or wap portals that will report this information back to you after you connect.
I can save it as a sound but cannot use it as a ringtone.... Some works some don't....
I have a Krz1.
I DONT HAVE THE OPTION OF SAVING AS RINGTONE!!!
I have a Razr v3m.
I can use myxertones.com for editing songs and sending them, but at no point will it let me use or listen to the file other than just as a mysounds recording.
I Really dont want to hack it and void the warrenty/insurance... but man I HATE the way they limmeted what my phone does in order to make more money.
I DONT LISTEN TO THE CRAP MUSIC THEY SELL SO THERE NOT MISSING MY MONEY!!!
:flamemad:
