The truth is that strict 3G service is as Verizon describes. ATTs 3G footprint isn't a big as Verizon's. However, for voice service, ATT is every bit competitive as Verizon.

But, the question is, do you care if your voice call is 2G or 3G? In fact, when you place a call on VZ, you're making use of their CDMA voice system. When you make a data call, you're using their EVDO system. Two separate systems.

With ATT, the same radios carry both voice and data on both 2G and 3G systems.

ATT's 3G coverage isn't "bad", it's simply not as big.
