Droid X on alltel, progress, need a little help though.

blah been on the phone with a rep telling them its an htc hero and getting all sorts of items wrong.
First the phone was programmed as a windows phone to the internet which android connects diff i guess,
second they made me restore "factory" and nothing, than changed my mdn(msid) to something wrong than
back to normal I guess, now he is clearing my cache because he keeps saying something is wrong with the
cache, I have to have my phone off for 90 minutes and he will call back. FUuuckk. If this doesn't do it im
not sure what will. im barely avoiding him from realizing its a verizon phone >.< since the programming
he keeps telling me is different than what I have to put in and find. Blahhh

Fail, nothing, they did some minor things and told me that it was a cache problem and I needed to turn off my phone for a night and turn it back on, next step is talk to a data tech support. blah
Anything I should know before entering this half of the black abyss? lol

I would pay good money to have someone fix this for me -.-
Apparently their is a stock rom for the alltel hero out
somewhere. I wish I could tear it apart and see
what allows it to send and receive =\

Droid X on alltel, progress, need a little help though.

download a serial port program like HW virtual serial port
login, settings should look similar to
    Com: Com 8(anything after 2)
    IP Address: 192.168.16.2
    Port: 11008

Also in the settings tab UNcheck NVT enabled
now put your phone in Diagnostics Mode(I only know moto droid not droidx)
now turn off your phone, open up to see the keyboard
Power on phone _while_holding T button on keyboard.
Hold T key until phone is fully booted.
(doesn't matter about the power key as long as you press and hold t before you press power)
    Should install a new driver.

    back to HWVS(serial port program)
    press create com

    open:
qpst configuration Add New Port (add com port you chose from hwvs)
--if port is already added than open QPST Service Programming
choose your phone, press button bottom left that says Read From Phone
--A pop up asking for SPC will come up and type in 000000 (6 zeroes) and press ok
wait the 3-5 minutes for it to read data and than edit away
    open:
cdmaws choose port # you chose in hwvs press connect
-- go to security tab look at the bottom right section.
SPC/ User Lock press SPC button and choose Send "000000"
--alternatively type 000000 in the box their and than press SPC button and send.
Should popup saying spc wrote successfully or something to that effect.

    Voila You are connected.

And sorry, no 3g/evdo or mms as of yet. alltel is lame and has something internal that is different.
We might actually have to build a specific rom for this to work at all. Which I have no experience in.

Yes. I realize that it doesn't, I don't know how to do the droid X. I would assume it would probably be a dial # like ##diag# or something to that effect. but I don't have an X i just have a regular droid. The topic starter has a droid x. You might try and PM him and he may be able to help you. not sure though.

You do not need to start up the Droid X in any special way.

Just boot it up, plug it in USB, USB drivers will install BY THEM SELVES, they are stored in the phones memory, the phone will mount as a "CD DRIVE" on it's own with an autorun for USB driver installation, this will install ALL motorola communication drivers.

From there, look up the guide for the Motorola Q, this will give you QPST com port access.

    The radio modifications begin...

Right here soon I am going to be trying to program my phone with radiocomm and see if it makes a difference. I bought CDMA Workshop 3.5.5 and put my AAA and HDR An auth. user/pass's in and no go, fails 3g, 1x still 100% good. Stillllll working on it. Eris & Incredible worked PERFECT on alltel, there's got to be a way to get it working on the droid/DX too.
