How to: BlackBerry to Cricket 8830 or any other BB

Sorry for the n00b question =P I am ususally much better at looking for answers. Sometimes a little too good that I ignore the obvious answer that is right in front of me.

I guess I should have worded it a little better in asking if the EVDO really makes a differnece with the storm, but I flashed the 1013.prl today and now have 3G. Seems to be a major differnce in browsing from the 1X lol.

How to: BlackBerry to Cricket 8830 or any other BB

I am a noob but I am very confident if I can get past this one obstacle I will be able to flash this 8703 im working on. everything has worked fine for me except changing the spc using qpst. everytime I go to set the port it shuts my laptop down. if anyone can help with this issue I would be greatly appreciative.

How to: BlackBerry to Cricket 8830 or any other BB

Ok, I have a 8330 that was on Verizon and I think im overlooking something simple here. I am connected properly I think.
In the top left it says "COM4-Unrecognized - QXDM"
When I type the commands in I recieve the following replys..

    mode offline-d
Waiting for phone to go offline...
Error waiting for phone to go offline.
Unable to detect that phone went offline.

    spc "000000"
Successfully sent the correct SPC - SP is unlocked

    pr_list_wr 0 "C:\38140.prl"
    NV_DONE: Normal completion

    nv_write nam_lock 0 0
    put_property nv_nam_lock_i succeeded

    mode reset
There was a timeout (no response received)
    Error response from DMSS: 0

Now at this point the phone does indeed reboot, but after it comes back up, under network options the selected one is "none", and if I try to change it the only option is Verizon, at which point when I try to make a call im on "The American Roaming Network"

I also tried typing "##000000" but im not sure if I need to change any settings there?
Sorry if this is noob teritorry, but Iv read and read but I cant seem to get any farther.
    Thanks.
