well since i forgot to update. ok i got everything to work now. what i had to do was update my ROM i updated to DamageControl. now everything is work like a charm. thanks for the advice brandonharrison.

No it can not natively! It is only a dual band CDMA device.

I have a question i found a htc hero on ebay. his listing said software repair. here is his description of what he said

"I am selling my htc hero phone for sprint. I received the phone about a week ago from buying on ebay. And the device was poseted NEW PHONE. However when I tried to activate it would not program. I took it to a sprint store and the tech guy told me that the device software was hacked. The seller would not take the phone back so I am selling it. For repair it can be for parts too. However the phone is in new condition has no nicks cracks scateches or sing of use. The device powers up and wifi and the apps work. But the programming does not when you try to program it you enter in the programming code. And does not do anything. So if you are someone who is good with phones this may be a great deal for you. The phone comes with lots of extras as listed below. Any question I will be more then happy to answer them for you."

you guys think this phone can be fix by just installing a NEW ROM. or is this phone screwed. please let me know

I think that it is fixable. It seems like it had been flashed to another service so when the guy tries to activate it on sprint it wont work... If I found that deal i would buy it.

I too was able to get mms working after installing DamageControl rom.

my problem starts in QPST configuration. my phone is listed as "unknown" [why is that?] even though i installed the HTC diagnostic interface driver. Since the phone is unknown i cannot open the service programming menu [it says: Online connection error - unspecified error.]

I try to read the SPC in the Serivice programming tab in QPST.
but i figured out why that was happening. i selected the port for my cricket broadband DM port instead of my phone.

My phone status keeps saying it is "unknown" in service programming.
i have uninstalled and reinstalled my HTC diagnostics interface driver.
also when i selected the properties and the phone status is blank.
any reason why that might be?

u think if i just installed the ROM damagecontrol and flashed the prl file it would work on cricket.
