If you could tell Harley engineers to fix something what would it be?

Tell them what really makes you mad and what you want fixed.

    1. Fix the inner faring brakets from cracking. The horizontal brakets have been redesigned now do something about those verticals.

    2. Give me another gallon of fuel in my tank. Granted I could pull the stage 1 stuff off but these bikes need just a bit more milage before a stop for gas.

    3. Turn down the HEAT. Come ride with me in Arizona in July and Aug. I will show you what I am talking about. My balls are COOKED. It's a TOURING bike for gods sake, not a round the town bar hopper.

Anyway, if a Harley engineer reads this it could change things. Or... we are stuck with the same shit different day.

You've alrealy got the extra gallon of gas.

Blame the EPA for the heat, not Harley. Lot's of fixes for the heat discussed daily here on the forum.

40,000 on my '06....I have yet to have to tighten a bolt or fix a fairing bracket.

If you could tell Harley engineers to fix something what would it be?

Off the top of my head...

-ABS standard on all bikes. Linked brakes on at least the Touring bikes.

-It's 2010, how about real floating rotors?

-The 6-speed transmissions suck. Make the S/E 6-speed the stock gearbox.

-Either chrome or black out the lowers and bells. The stock stuff looks like hell on a $26,000 bike.

-Make the Sundowner the stock seat on everything but the FLHX and the FLTRX. They're touring bikes for the love of God, make them comfortable for the long haul.

-And while we're at it, fix the colossal f-up that is the FLTRX. I had cash in hand to buy one in November, and ended up on a Limited instead of that lowered wannabe cruiser. Fixed-fairing bikes are better long-distance haulers. Why neuter it?

More wind tunnel testing for faring equipped bikes.
    A primary chaincase dipstick.
Stock seats that are actually comfortable.
    A kickstand interlock.
    MORE POWER!!!

Sounds like you answered your own personal questions/ frustrations. A few of them are mine as well.

Here's my personal favorite. Their wasn't anything wrong with the original twin cam 88 design other then the cam chain tensioners. Going to the twin cam 96 took a step back in time towards the evolution 80" IN MO. The twin cam 96 did not gain anything in a performance margin comparied to a big bore 95" stage one. In fact going from a TC96 to a 110 is a complete waste of money. I've seen twin cam 88's punched up to a 103 out perform the new 110 by a long shot. Even ones that have aftermarket heads and cams.
    Ok that's enough.
