Wood TW6-6 TW-555 Cam Dyno Test by Fuel Moto

I know this information very well, both the Revolution and the stock cylinders have there advantages and disadvantages and the reason we are going to offer our kits both ways. The piston manufacturer we are working with has done extensive testing on 107 bored stock cylinders in terms of reliability/durability/longevity and as I noted earlier there are several others that have been doing this for years, we are not the first to go this route. If I felt it was an issue I would not even consider offering them.

Our 150Hp/130Tq Procharged Road King had an untouched OEM crankshaft. As a matter of fact it had stock cylinders, heads, and valvetrain as well. Installing the cams was as far as the motor was apart besides the Blower and a ton of tuning. Would I recommend that to a customer with a stock crank NO, but we did not have any issues for the purpose of our testing.

The Revolution pistons and cylinders are excellent however as you noted they are more expensive, there is also the consideration that when we offer a piston kit for the stock cylinders that we can essentially have the pistons made however we want to our specific requirements if necessary. Another aspect is that many individuals are not familiar with nikasil cylinders, their installation and break in procedures, etc.. and are more comfortable boring the stock cylinders which is common practice. Both routes work very well.

We are having some 107" pistons for the OEM bored cylinders made at the moment which should hopefully be here by the end of next week. It will take us a week or so to get everything tested. We should however have our testing finished by the end of the week with the 107" kit we are offering with Revolution cylinders and pistons and should have kits ready as soon as the end of next week.

I would recommend getting the map/calibration within reasonable tune after the cam install before you ride it 300 miles to have it tuned. What do you have for a tuning platform?

    Jamie

How about producing the Jackpot 2/1 header for us 2002-2007 Road King and touring bikes. Your losing out on a big market segment. I for one would like to have a headpipe that'll allow installing slip on mufflers versus having to have to use the proprietary muffler that comes with all current market 2-1 exhausts.

You do it for the 2010 bikes, us older bikes are feeling left out...
