    1098 mpg

i just got done with the 600 mile service on my base 1098 and i talked to the dealer about the fuel consumption i was getting...the fuel light comes on after about 65 miles which maybe gives me another 30 or so before i need to refill (about 100 a tank)... my dealer said he talked to DNA and they told him that about 25 mpg sounded right...is anyone else getting this?

The June issue of Cycle World shows the fuel mileage as High/low/avg. 48/33/39. and avg. range including reserve as 160 miles. Reserve is 1 gallon so if you were running hard on the gas and getting the low mileage figure you would be into the reserve at approximately 102 miles. I have not heard or read anywhere at what point the low fuel light comes on but that sounds about right. Better too early than too late, eh?
    Cheers,
    Scott

I'm still running mine in, and have a full 70mm Termi system on it, but I'm getting around 40mpg. This weekend I'm off to Le Mans for the French MotoGP round and will be doing about 1200 miles. That should be a real good fuel consumption test.

I have 195 miles on my bike and so far I'm getting around 32mpg with very conservative riding. I'm really hoping it gets better as the bike is broken in.

My fuel low light has come on twice during the first 100 miles. That equates to almost 17 mpg. Hmmm... Maybe I didn't get a full tank of gas from the dealer

7 days, 450 miles, four tanks of fuel, working on 5th.
1st tank from dealer not measured
2nd tank, reserve light on at 81 miles, 33.5 mpg
3rd tank, reserve light on at 87 miles, 35.8 mpg
4th tank, reserve light on at 78 miles, 32.1 mpg
I'm riding pretty easy at this point keeping the RPMs down

    '07 CBR1000RR Repsol, about 43 mpg
    '05 919, about 54 mpg
    '06 H3 Hummer, 15 mpg
'97 Baurer Air 90 hockey skates, worn out!

Which bike is the most senseous to ride; 1098 S Tricolore!
