Found this article in the January 09 issue of 'Two Wheels' mag here in Australia, thought it might interest some riders.
"Now that we have your attention, according to a story in the Sydney Morning Herald by medical reporter, Kate Benson, men who ride motorcycles are at risk of impotence and urinary problems because the vibration of the engine damages nerves in their penises. A survey of more than 250 motorcyclists who rode their bikes for about three hours every weekend found almost 70 per cent had problems gaining an erection or emptying their bladders.
Doctors in Japan, who published two studies on the dangers in the International Journal Of Impotence Research, said seats on most motorcycles put undue pressure on the perineum and restricted blood flow to the penis. Vibrations from the engine also caused a decrease in two growth hormones in the bladder and prostate related to bladder relaxation.
At least we can take comfort in the knowledge that motorcycling is better than sex anyway."
Questions I would like to ask is what age groups were these 250 motorcyclists?
Are the vibrations due to riding a Ducati, Harley or Jap bike?
I will leave this in your ball court!
