Ducati Leather Jacket Sizing / Fit.... HELP!

So if you wear a 40 suit coat, you will probably be in a 50-ish Dainese. How broad are your shoulders. I find that that tends to be a minor issue between sizes, but sleeves can be critical. If you wear full gauntlet gloves you have some wiggle room, but if wearing motard style gloves you don't want a lot of exposed wrist.

I think you will be fine with the 48. If you want a bit more body room you could go up to the 50....

As far as ordering, I would go with Salt Lake Motorsports. They have a full catalog online and are very helpful over the phone. I purchased some casual stuff from them and had to exchange an item and they made it very easy. The price will be retail, but you won't have sales tax to deal with...so that can offset shipping some.

My Duc Dainese is a 56. I'm 5'10 180lbs. and it fits perfect.

    Not sure if that helps.

Ducati Leather Jacket Sizing / Fit.... HELP!

Hmmmm... Im about 20 lbs heavier... Sounds like a 58 might be the way to go? Why is there such a gap in recommendations? Some saying a 50 some saying 56-58? I am even more confused, lol..

Are you SURE you coat size is a 40?? Not trying to treat you like a dolt, but that seems really small for your body size. I would suspect you are more like a 46 or 48. That would mean you would need a 56 or 58 size Dainese jacket as Euro sizing is US size plus 10. That's why I wear a 54 Dainese jacket. I wear a 42 US sized jacket, but a 52 (42+10) Dainese. The reason I went up to 54 was for sleeve length which doesn't sound like an issue for you.

Given all that, I would recommend a 56-58. You may fit the 56, just tighter in the body and shoulders. The 58 will leave you some room to layer under it if you brave some colder temps. Perhaps calling the folks at SLM (Salt Lake Motorsports) and ask their advise about which one of those sizes is better for you. They are great folks and will take good care of you!

Hit me up by PM if you need more help.

    Cheers,
    Joel

Ducati Leather Jacket Sizing / Fit.... HELP!

Lol, yea... I wear a suit to work every day and I am a true 40 R with a 34 waist... I am athletic and lift weights a lot so I think my weight is deceiving for my size. Im not really a "Big Guy" I just weigh a lot I suppose, lol. I think I am just gonna have to tuff it out and order the 56 or 58..if it doesnt fit, at least I know and I can return it for the correct size..

Thanks again for your help Joel and everyone else! I greatly appreciate it!

Def' go with the 56 based on your picture. I am the opposite! LOL! I am gangly little twirp.

    Are you going through SLC?

On a side note, you will probably need a 52 Dainese pant when you get them. I wear a 50 and have a 31" waist and 32" inseam. The flag pants are a great value for regular us. If you need to drag a knee they won't work but otherwise are the business. As a bonus they will zip together with your jacket!
