Ducati v.s Aprilia v.s MV Agusta v.s Japanese bikes Maintenance Costs

The 1098R is an absolute gorgeous bike: a good friend of mine from Charlotte just purchased one and the specs are very close to the Desmosedici; actually it is even lighter than the Desmosedici by a few kg. (3 or 4 I think). With the esception of just a few details the two bikes are quite similar even in the price. He purchased it in VA and he spent $ 42,000. Downfalls? yes! he does not know when they will deliver it....just like the D16rr.

Very interesting data: I am glad all services and maintenance are free on my new DD16rr for the first three years...after that...I will probably sell it.

Ducati v.s Aprilia v.s MV Agusta v.s Japanese bikes Maintenance Costs

I did a bit of research on this before buying my 848.
My '06 ZX6R well maintained by me but servicing is approx $500 - $600 every 6,000ks so about $1100 a year plus oil changes and filters so total prob $1500/yr

848, have been told servicing is every 12,000ks or 12 months which ever come first at a cost of $400 so plus oil and filters each year maybe $1000/yr max

I truly love Ducatis.... but can you explain what is there good about a Ducati for your....family???? I agree that we cannot stay without Ducati' but I am sorry: I totally disagree that one of these toys can be good and/or best for our families.

ALFREDOB - on the 848 thread i responded, but perhaps you glazed over it...here is what i wrote:
"I knew you were itialian by your picture...and Italy is my homeland too...which may me why you and i potentially but heads and fail miserably at communication....although you and i may not see logic with the same perception, you are my brother and my elder...and so i concede
    peace"

Now, this is the 4th or 5th time that you and i have mis-communicated...i recommend that we slow wayyyyyyy down on responding on each others comments so that there will be no further mis-understandings between you and I whether it be in words or in tone. How about it, brother?
